According to reports, Hamson had gone to bathe at a nearby water pond on September 4, 2025, when he allegedly suffered an epileptic attack, fell, and drowned.
The incident occurred at around 5:50 pm at Ryakashana cell, Nyarushambya ward, Ishaka, Bushenyi district. Family members revealed that Hamson had a history of epilepsy, which may have contributed to the tragic incident.
The police managed the scene, retrieved the body from the pond, and transported it to KIU Teaching Hospital Ishaka for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Investigations are ongoing, and the police will keep the public informed of any developments.
The police urge the public to keep a close watch on family members with epilepsy, especially in areas that pose potential risks. "We strongly urge members of the public to always keep a close watch on their epileptic family members for there are such risky places where they shouldn't be alone," said SP Tayebwa Apollo, R/PRO Greater Bushenyi.
